I finally had Vista 64 running but again my CD roms disapeared from My Computer. In Device Manager they show up as disabled and won't recover. Any help out there?

CD roms disapeared
I've had this happen too. My only solution, was to restart the computer. Hopefully, more users will experience this, and submit a bug report.

I uninstalled Nero 6.6 which is the only good enough Nero I manged to install and my drives showed up again. I re-installed Nero and downloaded a ASPI untillity from Nero hoping it would solve the problem and although the CD roms didn't dissapear at first later on they dissapeared all of a sudden. Restarting didn't help. I uninstalled Nero again but they didn't appear any more. Still working on this problem. Need to find an alternative CD-DVD recording software. Next option is to do a fresh install of Vista 64 without ever installing Nero to se if the problem replicates. Thanks for all input from you guys. Asus P5P800, P4 3.0mhz. I did a fresh install of Vista 64 but this time I didn't use Nero. Seems like that was the problem. Everything working ok now.
